The Light - The Beginning

The Light - Good to begin with this... As this is important to see the world with our eyes...

Diwali - is a contraction of "Deepavali" (Sanskrit: दीपावली Dīpāvalī), which means "row of lamps". Diwali involves the lighting of small clay lamps filled with oil to signify the triumph of good over evil.

These lamps are lightening during the night and in order to welcome the goddess Lakshmi.

For Hindus, Diwali is one of the most important festivals of the year and is celebrated in families by performing traditional activities together in their homes.

While Diwali is popularly known as the "festival of lights", the most significant spiritual meaning is "the awareness of the inner light".

The Goddess Lakshmi symbolizes wealth and prosperity, and her blessings are invoked for a good year ahead.

Diwali, the Festival of Light, comes at the end of October or early November. It's a festival that Sikhs, Hindus and Jains celebrate.
